About this property
Private garden
Large and light period maisonette with a Freehold-share, an off-street parking space, and a generous west-facing private garden extending 100 feet!
You are close to both the town centres of Forest Hill and Honor Oak - walk to either of their respective stations in under 15 minutes. Bus travel is super easy from the South Circular as well.
Your new home takes the whole upper section of a smart Victorian end of terrace. There is just one property below yours. Your own front door is to the right hand side of the building, where you’ll also find the gate to your sunny garden (which has patio and lawn sections).
Once in, there is a cute entrance lobby (fab for coats and shoes, and with fitted storage to the wall ahead), then you take stairs up and first on your right is your windowed bathroom. This has a neat white suite and an over-bath shower.
To the rear of the building you have a roomy kitchen/dining room of 18 feet by over 12 feet, with double-glazed windows to all three external walls. Nice! A reclaimed sliding part-glazed pitch pine door is a great feature, and you have stripped boards to the floor. Kitchen units are cool and casual, paired with wooden worktops.
Up to the main landing and you have a large single bedroom to your left (of 13 feet by over 5 feet) and a good double to your right - of over 12 feet by over 10 feet, with built-in wardrobes to both alcoves.
To the front of the property you have your huge, wooden-floored main reception room, of over 12 feet by nearly 17 feet. Fresh white walls and more high ceilings impress. To one corner, take a spiral staircase to the loft room: A brilliant study/hobby room/occasional-guest quarters. Two Velux windows and good (easily-accessed) storage feature up here.
What’s around? Lots of cafes, pubs and conveniences are within very easy reach (Nonna Maria is a charming neighbourhood Italian, No. 41 is delightful for coffees or brunches, The Blythe Hill Tavern is a very popular and friendly local) and your most local park is lovely Blythe Hill Fields.
In Forest Hill, there are nice independent deli’s and a big Sainsbury’s. Bona is a nice pizza spot. Big Cheeks delivers a tasty Thai. In Honor Oak, find more cute cafes and a great pizza place in an old bank building (nice sunsets here on the corner): Miss Margherita.
Catford is close, too, for more stations (Catford and Catford Bridge), The Broadway Theatre, and handy high street shopping.
