Charming 1930s End-of-Terrace Home in Central Ivybridge
Situated on a private road in the heart of Ivybridge, this attractive 1930s end-of-terrace property offers a wonderful blend of period charm and modern convenience. Set in a central location within easy reach of local amenities, the home benefits from gas central heating, double-glazed windows, and a generous fitted kitchen complete with a range cooker.
The ground floor accommodation comprises a welcoming entrance hallway, a lounge featuring an open fireplace and a bay window with lovely far-reaching views towards the surrounding countryside, a formal dining room with double doors leading to the garden room, the spacious fitted kitchen, and a convenient WC. The layout provides flexible living space, ideal for families or those who enjoy entertaining.
Upstairs, the spacious landing currently serves as a useful home office. Also on this level are three well-proportioned bedrooms, two of which enjoy elevated town and countryside views to the front, along with a family bathroom and a separate utility room. A wooden staircase leads to the converted loft, which provides a generous area currently used as a bedroom with its own four-piece ensuite bathroom.
Externally, the rear garden is well stocked and thoughtfully laid out, featuring a small greenhouse, a productive vegetable patch, a wooden workshop/shed with power, and a smaller metal storage shed. Side access adds further convenience. To the front, two private off-road parking spaces are included.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a characterful and well-maintained home in a sought-after central location.
Owner's Comment
"We really love living here. The location has been perfect for our kids, with good primary schools on both sides and a secondary school just behind us. We love the quiet lane and the character of the house, especially original features like the fireplace and staircase.
I’ll really miss the big landing, which we’ve used in so many ways—mostly as a home office. It makes me feel connected to the rest of the house while I work. I’ll also miss the amazing view from the lounge window; sometimes we watch that instead of the TV.
Ivybridge feels like a village, even though it’s technically a small town. It’s in a great spot—just 15–20 minutes to Plymouth and only five minutes to Dartmoor. It’s known as the gateway to the moor, so it’s perfect for things like wild camping and walking through beautiful old temperate rainforest in Longtimber Woods.
The lane we live on is really peaceful and family-friendly, even though the nearby road and close can get a bit busy. Kids play outside safely, and the neighbours are lovely. It’s a really friendly community—we do things like gather for wine on New Year’s Eve and have Halloween parties. It’s such a lovely, quiet, and welcoming place to live."
